Drawing Challenge

Hello readers today we did a drawing challenge in health. We had to have 2 people 1 of us explaining the picture and the other drawing it.

HOPE YOU ENJOY!!!

What was the activity

The activity that we took part in was the Drawing in pairs challenge, The way we do this is have one person sit back to back with another person and they get handed a picture that they have to explain the drawing bit by bit, while the person on the other side of the chair had to draw what he heard from his teammate to try get the drawing as close to the original as possible.

What Hauora were effected in this game

In this game the Hauora that was effected was our social side as we had to communicate cleanly and make sure each other understand, it worked this area because we had to understand what it sounded like for the other teammate/person from there end.

Did our values get shown

Yes our values got shown in today’s work as we didn’t discriminate everyone got included and no one was without a partner the fairness was there as we did swap roles eventually so yes I think our values were shown quite well.

How well did I participate

I Participated quite well in this task, I explained made sure I made sense and when it came to the drawing turn for me I listened as close as I could, in this I showed my values very well because I included my teammate didn’t discriminate his bad drawings and explaining skills and I also was quite fair with all the other participants as well

What are the definitions of the concepts

Short term = the short term means something that doesn’t last very long compared to other things that happen all around

Long term = the long term means something that lasts a long time specifically ranging 9 months to 12 months/1 year

Social justice = A fair thing where everyone has the same opportunities as everyone else in their environment

Consequence = consequences are a real thing that means when you do something wrong there will always be something like a repercussion or something to punish your actions

Building a whare

Hello readers today I will be talking about my last lesson in health focusing on the areas of our hauora and the whare that we made…
HOPE YOU ENJOY!!!

Activity

We built a whare out of 6 pieces of paper and named the walls after each area of the hauora, being mental/emotional, physical, spiritual, social. We took place in this activity by building the whare with the 6 pieces of paper in a stable way so that it doesn’t fall, the rules were just to build a whare and have it stable and standing with the play dough as some cool designs to represent each area of the Hauora/walls.

What areas of Hauora

The areas that were effected were the social side of things as me and my group had to work together to get the project done, and a little bit of mental and emotional cause when the building fell and we had to use calm our self after working on it for so long.

how were the effected

They mental and emotional was effected because of the strain it had emotionally whenever a part or the entire thing fell over and our social because us as a group had to come up with ways to build the whare together find out what worked and what didn’t

What values were shown

The many values that were shown include inclusiveness and this is because of the fact that they had to let everyone talk with each other and share their own ideas then let everyone come to an agreement on one specific idea and yet use everyone’s ideas to make sure no one was left out that was the key value shown in this project but for short their were things such as fairness, social justice and more

How did I do

I feel that I did very good at this activity as I did around half the work In a group of about 3 people and included everyone’s ideas and even made our own original building.

This was our house we made

Nutrition and fitness blog post

Hello readers today I am going to do a blog post about nutrition and the fitness unit that we have Been doing throughout the school term…

HOPE YOU ENJOY!!!

  1. What is your definition of fitness? = a fit body and the ability to move throughout the day without having any problems or issues on most days
  2. How does what we eat help with exercise and training? = depending on what we eat we might put on more weight which will lead to an improved physique if he/she is on a bulk and could energise us for the workout’s.
  3. How might vaping affect our Taha Tinana and the choices we make around kai kai? = it will ruin our lungs and make us addicted nicotine and could lead us to make worse decisions about our food choices because vaping reinforces worse food choices and can make recovery more challanging.
  4. Do you believe how we fuel our bodies affects our Mental Health? – If so, why? If not, why not? = yes I believe because some foods can lead to a more happy while other foods lead to more sleepiness and stuff like that
  5. What is the biggest restriction to regularly eating a balanced meal? = the biggest restriction to regularly eating a healthy balanced meal would be the prices off the foods and dietary restrictions mental walls but most defiantly the price
  6. Based off what you have learnt provide an example of what you could eat in each situation and the best time to eat the meal;
  1. HITT or team sport activity – about 2-3 hours before hand you want a balanced meal rich in complex carbohydrates and lean protein then 45-30 minutes before hand a small snack that’s easily digestible and high in protein.
  2. First meal of the day before school = you will have plenty of options for the first day of school but you should pick something that’s nutritious and healthy for your body E.G some avocado on toast
  3. Low intensity exercise like a walk or yoga = you should focus on easily digestible foods with some energy so that you can have enough energy while the walk goes on
  4. Long distance run – 10km + = for a long distance run you should eat foods with plenty of sugar and energising foods that keep you going throughout the entire thing

Differences in dealing with death over time!

introduction

Differences in dealing with death over time, what we mean by this is how the ways of dealing with death have changed over the hundreds of years in history we are gonna start with 1900 and end at 2025. I selected this area in death because its something that I haven’t covered yet, and something that I would find interesting.

Explanation!

The best way to explain this topic is how everything has changed over the years like in 1900 the best way for dealing with death was more public than the way of this century, they hosted public viewing news reports and while most died at home the funerals where elaborate events that costed a lot of money and were very hard to pay for and a rare event that’s why it was such a public event. They also cremated the bodies though it was even more expensive than burying and a lot more rare than a normal funeral. In the next century(21st) the funerals have become a lot more affordable and private compared to the earlier century, for instance the news no longer talked about funerals, cremation still happens in this century and is more popular than back in the 1900s and more affordable.

How did you show respect towards other peoples religions!

I showed respect by asking questions in a polite manner about how their religion works, and the ways they do stuff in their religion. I also showed respect by listening and taking in everything that is being told to me and making sure I’m being respectful about every aspect.

Why is it important to take care of your hauora areas while going through a loss!

Another important aspect is take care of yourself while going through loss. one of the ways is to make sure that you take care of your social aspect because if you dont your body/brain will be depressed or sad of some kind because you wont have social connections and a way to let your grief out while talking. the next big thing is your physical because if you stop focusing on your body and how to take care of your self then you’ll lose your fit body or even further you might get diseases because of depression and lack of care for your own body. and just like the rest you spiritual will be inflected as well such as depression which I have stated many times but thats only because that’s one of the biggest draw backs for going through a loss, there are many other things about the spiritual but like I said the biggest of them all is depression.

huaora

Hello readers today I am doing a blog on well being and about the marshmallow tower.

HOPE YOU ENJOY!!!

the 5 units of huaora:

  1. physical
  2. spiritual
  3. social
  4. emotional
  5. whenua

Today we played a game called marshmallow tower, the rules were that we get 8 sticks and 12 marshmallows we were allowed to rip the materials, we also only had 12 minutes.

my favourite part of the game was when the timer ended and everyone’s but mine Caleb’s, om’s, jj’s and Maier’s fell we won that was my favourite part.

My taha whanua was affected greatly as we had to talk constantly and share our ideas my mental and emotional state wasn’t greatly affected unlike my social was

I could improve on sharing my ideas. this will affect my huaora positively because it will make me a more assertive person.

my awesome relationships

Hello readers today I am going to do another agreement blog on a statement…

Healthy relationships in my life are very important because without them I would be lost!

I do agree with this statement as one of my best friends Elijah has helped me through work and tough times. While other friends are annoying at times. The best person alive is my Mum and she is the only reason I am still alive she provides me with games a house and food money that keeps me alive and pays for everything that I have.
